For Community Organizations and Service Providers

Family violence can happen to anyone, at any age, no matter what race or religion and no matter what level of education or economic background.

By forming alliances in our community with social service agencies to address the causes of this crime, we can move towards creating more peaceful and safer homes for families. Through fostering collaboration with social service providers, we can raise awareness about family violence and utilize their expertise to develop large-scale initiatives that will enhance programs and services currently provided.

As homes are becoming increasingly diverse, it is important to remember that victims and survivors represent many different cultures and family attitudes. This makes our challenge to provide necessary services that much greater.

Customized training programs and support are available for community service providers to learn how to recognize signs of abuse, respond appropriately to family violence and refer members to community resources. For more information and scheduling, please contact (614) 722-4830.

The Center for Family Safety and Healing also offers Stewards of Children training. Stewards of Children is an evidenced-based prevention program to increase knowledge, change attitudes and enhance child-protective behaviors. This video-based program is for adults responsible for the well-being and care of children. It is appropriate for youth-serving organizations (sports leagues, day care centers, after school programs, children's clubs, church groups and more). To bring this program to your setting, please contact The Center for Family Safety and Healing at (614) 722-4830.
